BRIEF BACKGROUND - THE
I started the Boteti Diaries in 2002, writing monthly inserts about the development of Meno A Kwena Tented Camp & Safaris, on the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (MPNP).

The Boteti Diaries were interrupted in 2009 when other more pressing circumstances demanded my time in the development of tourism in MPNP. I have designed this new website so that it is more interactive, including the ability to update the diaries on a more regular and fresh basis. To increase exposure that covers all topics involved in sustainable tourism development in the region, The previously titled Boteti Diaries has changed to The Okavango Diaries, for those who followed the journal from its humble beginnings.
The inspiration to write comes from the many facets that surround safaris in Africa – wildlife, people, conservation, African culture, and many more fascinating story subjects, few around the globe ever imagines.
I will at some point include the diaries published so far since 2002. In the meantime, to get this blog going I will send images of the
