BUCKETING RAIN
Posted by David Dugmore on Dec 11, 2005 in Boteti Diaries
While the northern hemisphere was having a white Christmas we had a wet Christmas, very wet. The rains have been persistently regular, raining on us or at least within view. Huge tropical mountains of cloud, black and heavy with tons of water droplets until they can contain it no more. We can almost see the grass grow, the plants bursting with branch breaking foliage. We are just about up to 300mm rain at Meno A Kwena, our annual average is 400mm and we’re hardly even half way through the rainy season. Just hope it carries on late into the summer and then the dry season will be somewhat easier to get through.
