Botswana celebrated its 40th year as an independent country on the 30th September. And the Batswana have a lot to celebrate about since gaining independence from their British protectorate status in 1966. I gained independence from my Mother’s protectorate status five years before, welcome to the ‘roaring forties’ Botswana!
