OKAVANGO FLOOD

The legendry Mike Watson - safari guide, hunter, fisherman, decorated soldier - general all round adventure character, stroked his long beard as the motor boat got onto the plane for the Okavango Delta from Maun. The 2006 Okavango flood was better than average and so the navigable waterways were ideal for boating right from Maun. Something we haven’t been able to do for years since the last few floods from Angola, and our higher than average local rains. I was excited to be seeing so much water, after all we are dealing with in the dry Boteti River, just over a hundred kilometres downstream.
